I started playing volleyball for DVVC in 2000 with the legendary Teresa Stratton as my coach and mentor. Playing competitive volleyball as a twelve year old blew my mind. I loved every moment of it and I thank Diablo Valley for giving me that amazing experience. My initial experience inspired me to play four years at San Ramon Valley High School and then at University of the Pacific where volleyball assisted me in acquiring a fantastic college education. In high school I played a solid mix of outside hitter and setter. While in college I played the guy with the wrong colored jersey on (libero) for three years and setter for one. I have coached for 3 dispersed seasons at Diablo throughout high school and college. Now I look forward to starting a consistent coaching career with the same extraordinary club. I am also an assistant for the girl’s program at San Ramon Valley High School.

I just recently got engaged on July 4^th 2010!!! We had an exciting celebration under our own beautiful firework show with our parents, brothers and sisters, and my fiancé’s (Julie’s) four sweet nieces. I am blessed to have her to share my life and volleyball with; she holds the dig record for the famous women’s program at University of the Pacific which has won several NCAA D1 Championships.

Though my seven years at DVVC and collegiate experience I have acquired extensive knowledge in the amazing sport of volleyball. Now I look forward to being able to share my own lessons with others and enhance the playing ability of everyone I coach. One of my main coaching philosophies is that everything has something to learn and no one is above the advice coming from a coach or even another player. I have seen way too many unbelievably talented players fall apart because they couldn’t take criticism. I love volleyball and I learn from it every day and many of the strongest and most valuable lessons don’t come from the coaches, and until you open up your mind to everyone and everything going on around you  you’re not unleashing your true potential.
