| Photo Coming Soon... | | I try to create a learning environment: where players will commit to working hard, where they are safe to make mistakes, where goal setting and good communication tools are used, and where players can share the fun and good times of volleyball. The practice court holds the players accountable for their actions. It asks the player to give the best individual effort she possibly can, on every touch, -- as each touch is an opportunity to get better. The magic of volleyball is not in the X’s and O’s of play making, but in the synergy created when the whole works together as one unit, and the individual is thrilled to contribute.“Players teach players how to play and coaches direct the process.” That is what I love to do, direct. The players play volleyball to succeed. They push themselves and gain a passion for the sport; “success is peace of mind that is the direct result of self-satisfaction in knowing you did your best to become the best that you are capable of becoming”(170Wooden). My philosophy is to create an environment that nurtures that best, which allows the player to become a better volleyball player, but also gives each player a season of personal discovery.
