2011-2012 Coaches Profiles

	I started playing volleyball when I was in 7th grade. I had no prior playing experience, and everything I knew at the time I learned from hitting the ball against the wall in my Deer Valley volleyball t-shirt, pretending to be a "real" volleyball player. Teresa Stratton saw potential in me and she took me on her 16's team which was Diablo's youngest team at the time. That is why I love Diablo, you don't always have to be the best, you just have to want IT the most!

	Years later, I made the De La Salle Varsity volleyball team as a freshmen. We won a BVAL League Championship and an NCS championship that year. During my high school career we were undefeated in league four straight years, won four BVAL League Championships, and made it to NCS each year. I was coached by JD Brosnan, a former DLS grad and University of the Pacific middle blocker. My sophomore year I made Sean Stratton's Diablo 18 Black team and we took 5th place in the Nation! I am grateful for the opportunities to play and learn during those four years.

	After high school I went to Pepperdine University to study Art, and I graduated with a degree in Studio Art (painting) at the top of my class in 2009. While at Pepperdine, I helped out with the men's and women's team doing film and even playing against the girls in practice, as well as working summer camps as a coach

	The fall after I graduated, I coached the freshmen girls team at Northgate High School where we went 17-8 on the season. In the spring, I was the varsity assistant for the Northgate boy's team that finished 32-3 overall. For the 2010 season I got the head varsity position at Athenian School in Danville. We are currently 16-7 and are hoping to make NCS this year. Hopefully I have good updates to add to this section...

	Last year was my first year coaching for Diablo and I coached the 12 Green area team. It was so fun for me to coach them and see their improvement throughout the year. This year I am coaching the Diablo 15 Black power team! I am looking forward to having a group of hardworking girls who love volleyball as much as I do! GOOO DIABLO!
